Google is at it again!
Google must be testing out some new formats for AdWords, as a new ad extension has been spotted in the US by Kim Clinkunbroomer from Philly Marketing Lab. An “I Am Looking For” drop down navigation menu has been spotted on a PPC ad, which allows users to go directly to the page that they are looking for on the site.
I Am Looking For
In Clinkunbroomer’s screen shot (which you can see below), normal site links have been used in conjunction with this “I Am Looking For” feature, which has different pages to click on to the site links, to give a better option for the user. This should only mean positive things for PPC marketers, as the user will be directed to where they want too, which should in turn increase conversion rates.
In regards to this recent finding on the Google search network, a spokesperson from Google has released the following statement and has stated that it is being tested in the US:
“Ad extensions — such as phone numbers, images, seller ratings — have long provided people with additional, useful ways to find the information they need on the web. In this case, we’re testing a ‘drop-down’ extension to make it easier to navigate quickly to a specific, relevant section of an advertiser’s site.”
I wonder what other exciting beta tests Google are introducing to AdWords, I am sure it will not be too long before we find out!
